    Broccoli is a good combination source of fiber, protein and contains iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and selenium as well as the several vitamins A, C, E, K, and a good array of vitamin B including folic acid.

    Broccoli Salad is simply a healthy and nutritious salad and is very popular in American cuisine. This will give you the following nutrition:

    • Calories: 232kcal
    • Carbohydrates: 11g
    • Protein: 5g
    • Fat: 19g
    • Saturated Fat: 5g
    • Cholesterol: 22mg
    • Sodium: 269mg
    • Potassium: 144mg
    • Fiber: 1g
    • Sugar: 10g
    • Vitamin A: 201IU
    • Vitamin C: 22mg
    • Calcium: 82mg
    • Iron: 1mg

    Learn how to prepare Broccoli Salad by following this simple recipe. The preparation time is approx 25 minutes.

    Ingredients:

    • 2 florets of Broccoli
    • ½ cup chopped Red Onion
    • 8 slices Bacon or Coconut Bacon (Vegetarian option)
    • 1 cup of Shredded Cheese
    • Cooking Oil for deep frying

    For Dressing:

    • 1 cup Mayonnaise or Greek Yogurt
    • ¼ cup white vinegar, but you can also use cider vinegar or lemon juice, too.
    • ¼ cup Sugar

    How to prepare Broccoli Salad:

    • Take a pan and fry bacon in it, until it is crispy. Keep it on a paper fabric to drain grease, and put it aside.
    • Cut the broccoli into bite-size pieces, separating a little stem.
    • Add chopped onion and shredded cheese to the broccoli in a large bowl and mix well.
    • Make the dressing by mixing vinegar, sugar, and mayonnaise, or greek yogurt in a small bowl.
    • Drizzle the prepared dressing over it and gently toss it, it is best to put it overnight or a couple of hours in the refrigerator before serving.

    • Crush bacon or coconut bacon into pieces, and put it in the broccoli salad bowl, and toss it before serving.
    • You can add your own choice of veggies, spices, and herbs when you make this salad. A lot of meal experiments are possible in this recipe.
