Now in the world, it is becoming famous due to its mineral value and medicinal content.

    Makhana’s quality varies depending on the size and color of the lava. Various qualities of Makhana’s can be found on the market, leading to different price ranges.

    Makhanas are also used for religious purposes to offer the god. For example, Makhana’s kheer is made to offer the Hindu goddess. Makhanas are rich in minerals and nutrients like manganese, potassium, potassium, protein, phosphorus, and magnesium, etc. Makhana has a high amount of amino acids in both raw and fried Makhanas.

They also have low sodium and saturated fat. That eventually brings a healthy heart and body. They are packed with multiple nutrients. It has magnesium, phosphorus, protein, and potassium, etc.

    They possess calcium content which is the cherry on the cake, as they make your bones fit. Also, aids in weight loss, maintaining blood pressure, improves the digestive system and acts as a detoxification agent. It sets a perfect example of the combination of an appetizing and healthy snack.

    Enhances weight-loss

    The first step for weight loss is to increase protein intake. Makhanas are rich in protein content, which helps to decrease your food intake. As protein tends to keep your stomach full. They are also low in calories, which is why people tend to eat them often as a snack.

    Makhanas are low in glycemic index which is beneficial for high blood sugar levels and are also rich in protein. They are rich in magnesium and low in sodium which makes them perfect to eliminate obesity and diabetes.

    Due to the presence of antioxidants in makhanas, they have great anti-aging properties. It helps to make your skin glow and look younger. The only drawback is that they can’t be consumed as a fried snack. It also controls excessive and regular urination. Makhanas are also beneficial for the digestive system.

    Makhanas are great for balancing the hormonal balance in the body. It is very useful for maintaining female organ functioning and ensuring female fertility. Regular intake of makhanas enhances female reproductive health.

    Few healthy snacks of Makhanas

    Spicy makhanas

    It’s best used for curbing your hunger pangs. People use it as a yummy yet healthy snack in the evening.

    Method

    • Heat some ghee and roast some makhanas in the pan for 10-15 minutes. (in low flame).
    • Remember to stir it frequently.
    • Add chaat masala, salt, black pepper, turmeric, and red chili powder according to your taste. (according to your taste)
    • After that turn off the flame.
    • Let it cool down and keep in an airtight container.

    Tasty Makhana chaat

    Another appetizing yet beneficial recipe as a snack is makhana chaat. This is great for having it as a starter.

    Method

    • You have to soak the makhana in water for 8-10 minutes. 
    • Squeeze all the wet makhanas and then keep them in the bowl.
    • Add yogurt, black pepper, roasted cumin powder, lemon juice, and salt (according to taste) to the bowl. 
    •  Mix nicely. 
    • Add raisins for the need more enhanced taste.
